Creating Apple Airport hotspots
Ever since I began Muniwireless.com, I have not seen many news reports of hotspots created using (primarily) Apple Airport Extreme base stations. Am I missing something? I read about little black boxes from Taiwan, Vivato Wi-Fi switches and Tropos Networks Wi-Fi cells, but never Apple Airport Extreme.

I read about little black boxes from Taiwan, Vivato Wi-Fi switches and Tropos Networks Wi-Fi cells, but never Apple Airport Extreme.
So, just to dispel the notion that you cannot build a hotspot using Apple Airport base stations, I have compiled a list of resources for those who want to build such a network, whether for private or public access.
Apple Airport Extreme website – this is part of Apple’s website and contains a lot of information about Airport Extreme as well as links to hotspot directories.
