Rosner and its electronics partner, German computer chip maker Infineon Technologies AG, said the limited-edition garment is geared toward technologically progressive, fashion-conscious men.
I hope the same technologically progressive men don’t forget to remove the battery inside the jacket when they put it in a washing machine. As is the case with most devices, including clothing, the human is always the weakest link.
If you were thinking of giving this singular fashion statement as a Christmas present to your favorite geek, forget it. The jacket is available in August from the Rosner site but won’t be delivered until February 2005.
“We think it makes great sense to build in electronics into clothes, and we are looking forward to develop further clothes with integrated electronic solutions,” said Dieter May, responsible for strategy and emerging business at Infineon.
