Akron, Ohio goes wireless

Akron, Ohio (pop. 271,000) is the latest city to announce the deployment of a citywide Wi-Fi network. The first phase consists of a pilot network in the Ellet and East Akron neighborhoords. The current network covers 7-10 square miles and is used for public safety, emergency (FEMA) workers, insurance inspectors and the public.
