Wireless Philadelphia posts map of pilot areas: test the network and send in your comments

Wireless Philadelphia has posted a map and a list of the areas where they will be running Wi-Fi pilots. I call upon Muniwireless readers who live in Philadelphia or who happen to be visiting the city to test the Wi-Fi connections in the pilot areas and report back to me. I will post your comments on Muniwireless. Please make sure you state your name and affiliation.

Hi Esme – The pilot areas listed at http://www.wirelessphiladelphia.org/pilotareas.html and the map to which this post links were published in Spring 2005. They are not updated to reflect the currently active Wi-Fi zones deployed by EarthLink.

So where are the maps? Why is this map still on the Wireless Philadelphia website if it is misleading?

Feather by Earthlink worked very well. I had better through put than my office T-1

I don’t know the answer to your question, Esme, but the map of the test area currently under construction can be found here.

Wireless Philadelphia recently received bids to build them a new website, so hopefully we’ll see a new and more frequently-updated site soon.
