A single square mile in the city of San Carlos has been targeted to be the first proof-of-concept test for the ambitious 1,500 square-mile Wireless Silicon Valley Project being spearheaded by IBM.
San Carlos is the first of two concept cities in San MateoCounty to sign a letter of agreement with the Silicon Valley Metro Connect team. As we reported earlier this week, Palo Alto is the second and is expected to sign a similar agreement soon.
The city of San Carlos announced the agreement on its web site this week. The start date for the project, which will extend 120 days, was not specified. The entire Wireless Silicon Valley Project is expected to include 41 municipalities at its completion.
