This week the city’s board of directors instructed the agency to do a feasibility study on providing the service on the Metro Red, Green, Blue and Orange lines. Their report is due in April.

The authority considered a similar proposal when its Metro Orange line opened two years ago but found it too expensive. This time, however, the idea won’t stand alone. Earlier this month Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa announced a plan to build a city-wide wireless network.
