Cleveland, Ohio is the latest among large US cities to look seriously into bringing citywide wireless broadband service to residents and businesses. Mayor Frank Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio has announced that he wants to bring citywide Wi-Fi service to cover 77 square miles (200 square kilometers) of the city. The estimated cost is between $60 million and $100 million (which is on the high side if it’s only for infrastructure).
So what happened to One Cleveland? See my post back in 2004 where I predict that Cleveland will have citywide Wi-Fi by 2006 (note: ignore the publication daten which says today; we are having problems with our content management system).
