Dallas-Ft. Worth commuter rail goes wireless

The commuter railway connecting Dallas, Ft.Worth and the Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport will deploy end-to-end broadband wireless connectivity.The commuter railway connecting Dallas, Ft.Worth and the Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport will deploy end-to-end broadband wireless connectivity.

The cooperative public railway, called the Trinity Railway Express, is expected to provide high-speed wireless Internet access to about 5000 commuters daily beginning this summer. The system will also provide a range of information and entertainment services, including news, sports, local advertising and video content on 27-inch LCD screens.

The system will be deployed by 4G Metro using Nortel and Colubris equipment.
