Texas City, Tx. considers citywide WI-Fi

Municipal Wi-Fi fever is spreading through Texas. Corpus Christi has a mixed-use network up and running while Houston is deliberating the terms of the agreement with EarthLink. Now, Texas City is asking its residents if they want citywide Wi-Fi. Texas City may deliver citywide Wi-Fi to its residents if enough people want it. The city recently sent out a survey to residents (together with their water bill) to find out how much people would be willing to pay for it (if they want it at all). The city would pay for and own the network, but hire a private company to run it.
