Caltrain seeks proposals from vendors for Wi-Fi service on commuter trains

The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers board (JPB) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors. JPB desires to enter into a contract with one chosen proposer or proposer team to provide wireless network services to Caltrain:

Notice is hereby given that the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board will receive proposals until 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 6, 2007 for 07-PCJPB-T-054, CALTRAIN WIRELESS NETWORK SERVICES, per specifications on file at the Office of the Director, Contracts & Procurement, 1250 San Carlos Avenue, P.O. Box 3006, San Carlos, CA 94070-1306.

The primary objective of the Caltrain Wireless Internet Project is to provide seamless, high-speed WiFi Internet access to rail passengers onboard the trains and rail platforms from San Jose to downtown San Francisco.

This RFP is a public works project subject to prevailing wage requirements. The prevailing wage rates established by the California Department of Industrial Relations are available at http://www.dir.ca.gov/DLSR/#PWD, or can be requested in hard copy format at the JPB’s offices.

To receive a copy of the solicitation documents, please visit the JPB’s Website at www.caltrain.com where you may register as a potential vendor, view, and/or download the solicitation documents. There is a pre-proposal conference scheduled for Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 1:00 PM.
