Crystal Lake, Ill., officials recently reached an agreement with a local firm, Heartland Communications, to deploy a WiFi network that will serve city offices for free in exchange for the right to mount antennas on city-owned poles and facilities. The first phase of the project which will cover the downtown area is already under construction and is expected to be complete sometime this summer. Under Heartland’s agreement with the city, 80 percent of the network will be complete within 18 months.

User will disapointed if the service area is not fully covered,
otherwise consumier prefer to use their internet servie in office
or house because is a lot easier to be connected.
If the fare is $12.99 it sounds much better.
A common dilemma with the “Build it for FREE” WiFi deployments currently taking place. Had the City put forth funding for the project as the City of Aurora, the residents of Crystal Lake would have the pleasure of enjoying a free service that would most likely be of better quality…
