Valtyr Gislason, IT manager for Isafjordur said in a press release “the system is a good investment as it even worked when covered with snow during the long winter.”

The system, which is expected to pay for itself within three years, uses Firetide equipment in four interconnected meshes with an Avaya telephony solution that delivers VoIP service. Nyherji, an Icelandic service provider, was in charge of the deployment.
