Galatsi, Greece, deploys muni wireless network

Galatsi, Greece, home of the 2004 Olympics, is proceeding with its municipal wireless network.Galatsi, home of the 2004 Olympics is forging ahead with deployment of its municipal wireless network, one of the first in Greece.

The four-square mile network will provide free service to students and municipal employees and fee-based broadband service to residents and businesses, according to a Strix Systems press release. The first phase was implemented in fall, 2006.
