The first phase of the island’s roll-out is complete and city employees, as well as business and residential customers, are enjoying connection speeds of up to 12 Mbps.
WiMAX is starting to prove itself in deployments like Fiji’s and others across the Pacific. Debate focuses on how “future-proof” the various technologies are, especially if the unlicensed 5.8 Ghz band is used.
