South Pittsburg becomes first Tennessee city to go Wi-Fi

South Pittsburg, Tennessee, this week became the first city in that state to complete a municipal Wi-Fi system. Mayor Mike Killian said he expects the network to result in “improved quality of technological life for all citizens; Enhanced access to the internet for police and emergency services from their vehicles; Increased opportunity for access to information for low-income citizens; and the promotion of business and tourism.”

The network was deployed by local cable and telecommunications company, Trinity Communications.
