Muni Wireless Applications Summit: Wi-Fi Done Right is the second of three public seminars sponsored by PTI and the city. It will open on an important subject, Managing Expectations ‚Äö?Ñ?¨ A Reality Check on Muni Wi-Fi.

Corpus Christi makes an excellent model for this sort of seminar. Not only is it successfully running municipal apps, its anchor tenant relationship with EarthLink, its service provider, is the model that most service providers seem to be moving toward. City officials from Toledo, Ohio to Long Island have balked at signing anchor tenant agreements, jeopardizing their ability to find an SP willing to partner with them. A session on what anchor tenancy is all about and the risks and benefits for all parties, is something the industry needs right now.
