Since the iPhone will be coming out in Europe in a few weeks with 3G capability, wait and buy it online from one of the European retailers and then apply the hack.

I am pleased to see this because Apple is selling it first in the big countries – France, Germany, the UK – leaving out little ones like Belgium and the Netherlands. Now we can just buy it online fro FNAC or the Apple Store UK, and use our own mobile operators’ SIM cards. Wonderful!

More to come: a second iPhone hack has been announced — go to Engadget to find out.

UPDATE: Alexander Casassovici unlocked the iPhone he bought from a US retailer and is now using it with his Bouygues cellular service. I guess Orange France’s exclusive deal with Apple in France isn’t so exclusive.
