As we reported two weeks ago, MeshLinx, based in Plano, Texas, stepped in after the cities balked when MetroFi sought their commitments to sign on an anchor tenants.
MeshLinx is not a newcomer to muni Wi-Fi. It has a history of deployments in cities around Texas, including a multi-radio system for first responders in Colleyville and a commercial network in Bay City. By stepping in, MeshLinx is getting a toe in the suburban Chicago market but the only terms described in a recent Illinois Daily Herald story are what the company will pay the city for the ability to do business there. Am I missing something?
