Sacramento begins muni Wi-Fi build-out

Sacramento will begin deploying the first phase of its free city-wide wireless network this month. Back in June, the city council selected Sacramento Metro Connect, LLC, a joint venture of Cisco, Intel, SeaKay and Azulstar, which will build and own the network. The city has agreed to be an anchor tenant. The free service will be supported by advertising with higher speeds available as subscriptions.
