Wilkes-Barre, Pa., unveils its muni wireless network

Wire Free Wilkes-Barre entered the first phase of its muni wireless roll-out this week. Private provider, Frontier, is providing low-cost wireless service in the city’s downtown area. This appears to be a realistic and manageable project that is likely to meet its projected completion date in November; Willkes-barre is only seven square miles.

    Frontier seems to be getting some good traction. That’s awesome. I think our “Grass Roots” time has come again. I hope NO large company comes along and screws-the-pooch like Earthlink did.

    Small is not always bad.
