New Baltimore, Michigan, is deploying a wireless broadband video surveillance network to reduce vandalism and monitor critical city utilities.New Baltimore, Michigan, is deploying a wireless broadband video surveillance network to reduce vandalism and monitor water and sewer utilities.

The network, which is being funded by a federal Homeland Security grant, uses Proxim Tsunami technology operating in the 4.9 Ghz spectrum. A Proxim press release notes that a chief advantage of the system is savings from the elimination of ongoing fees for conventional wired or fiber optic network services.
