Smart transit wireless application debuts in Vancouver

The “Transpod” system, from Novax, uses a wireless mesh and sensory technology aboard transit vehicles to communicate their positions and update systems that depend on the data. Traffic signals can be synchronized to prioritize traffic to maintain schedules based on the position of the vehicles.

The pilot is expected to be deployed on Vancouver’s Main Street in the coming months.
