Sprint WiMAX premieres in three cities

The New York Times reports a soft launch of Sprint’s WiMAX services is underway in Chicago, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. in preparation for a much larger launch later in the year.

According to the article, Sprint’s high-speed wireless Internet division, Xohm, began offering “mobile Internet business agreements for both Web portal services and WiMAX network access” on January 15.

Unfortunately, I’m ensconced in suburban New York City and am not in a position to sample any of these services. We’d love to hear reactions from anyone who has.
