Swedish bus passengers get free Wi-Fi with commute

Bus passengers in Stockholm, Sweden, can now access the Internet and receive  real-time travel information and video of  breaking news on the hour-long bus commute to Norrtalje. Passengers on route 676 will receive the wireless applications as part of a pilot project being deployed by Nomad, Capgemini Sweden, Intel, MobileCity, Pilotfish and Solutrea for  Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, SL, the city’s public transit authority. Passengers will receive a free WiFi broadband connection across the entire route and will be able to watch LCD screens displaying real-time journey information, as well as news and weather video from Swedish national broadcaster SVT.
