Quite well put,it is the mobile WiMAX which makes the difference. Just to add,the intention in XOHM is to use MBS ( Multicast and broadcst services) which will be of great use to its new JV partners Comcast and Time Warner Cable as well as Google with its YouTube heavy portfolio.

But just what announcement is Barry West going to make in the WiMAX World Forum Congress ( June 17-19) when he opens the industry's biggest event? After Dan Hesse has confirmed that the trials of XOHM have been successful,it can be anything but trivial.Probably we are now nearer to seeing the actual applications and services which will impact the industry as nothing else can. Seeing is believing.

Will the new network replace the existing Sprint network and handsets? Or, will they run two parallel networks? Will there be dual-technology, WiMax/CDMA handsets?

Will they sell the new WiMax service as a substitute for dsl for those that have no broadband access? Maybe with a base station for the home that could be networked.
