3G iPhone reviews: not much new there

Before you go out and buy the new 3G iPhone from Apple, read the reviews by David Pogue and Walt Mossberg. In summary: if you already have an iPhone, it’s not worthwhile getting the latest version. Apple is opening its iPhone applications store tomorrow in connection with the 3G iPhone launch, but those applications will also be available to existing iPhone users. One application I’m keen on using is iCall, a VOIP program that allows you to make calls via Wi-Fi. Saves money on roaming charges!

David Pogue (NYT): For the iPhone, “new” is relative

Walt Mossberg (WSJ): Newer, faster, cheaper iPhone 3G
