Excellent article.

Everywhere has to be free wifi access, and mostly for the people who are traveling. As hotel owner in Greece, we are one of the few places in our area that offer free access. You do not earn money from providing free access, but you can earn money when people come and sit and surf on the net! Always they eat or drink something.

Good article - you're spot on re: content downloads.

I travel a lot, and spend a lot of days out of the office, between meetings (usually around Soho and central london). If I'm stopping off somewhere for a coffee or need to do work between meetings, I need to get online. I know of a few places around London where they have free wifi, and I always go to them - even if it means travelling a bit further, or even spending a bit more on the actual coffee - still cheaper than paying £5/10 for an hour or two of wireless access.

There are so many starbucks around London- once I know I can get free wifi in them, then I'll be their best customer - as I'm sure will many others. Until, that is, everywhere else offers free wifi - then I'll just go for the best coffee!
