As at 29 February 2008, there were more than 6,400 public Wi-Fi hotspots in Hong Kong covering over 4,100 locations. From 27 March 2008 to mid-2009, GovWiFi will provide free Wi-Fi service at some 350 government premises in phases. It will put in place about 2,000 public Wi-Fi hotspots in the territory and make Hong Kong a wireless city with nearly 10,000 public Wi-Fi hotspots by 2009.</description>
