Broward County non-profit issues RFP for community-owned broadband network

OneBroward. a non-profit organization, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a community-owned wired and wireless broadband network covering 500 square miles (1300 square kilometers) of Broward County, Florida. The goal of the project is to provide broadband Internet access to residents, improve public safety and law enforcement, as well as efficiency in local government services, provide access to underserved communities and establish an entrepreneurial friendly environment that promotes economic development.
