JiWire, Boingo deliver ads wirelessly at airports

JiWire will sell and serve advertising for Boingo Wi-Fi hot spots at 28 major airports in the United States and United Kingdom. JiWire seems to be on a roll with its new advertising platform. JiWire ad network offers free Wi-Fi to i-users

iPhone and iPod touch users can now get free access to select Wi-Fi networks if they agree to view advertising from JiWire. The promotion is being run through the JiWire Wi-Fi Advertising Network which operates more than 100,000 hotspots.

Most of the hotspots involved are located in hotels, cafes, and airports, including the heavily trafficked Atlanta-Hartsfield airport, JFK and LaGuardia airports in New York and Chicago’s O’Hare.

Microsoft, JiWire partner in big revenue deal for ad-supported Wi-Fi

Microsoft’s new alliance with JiWire to deliver “ultramercials” online greatly enhances the business case for free wireless Internet access supported by advertising. This could be just what the muni market needs to revive interest in free ad-sponsored service on muni networks.
