Vermont e-state initiative moves to state’s senate

By an overwhelming 132 to 2 vote, Vermont’s House of Representatives approved a bill to make it the first “e-state” to deliver broadband and cellular coverage to every corner of the state.By an overwhelming 132 to 2 vote, Vermont’s House of Representatives approved a bill to make that state an “e-state.”

House Bill 248 authorizes revenue bonds of $40 million to fund the initiative, establishes a telecommunications authority to oversee it and eases restrictions on cities and towns building municipal networks.
