Going wireless on Mt. Everest

The first phase of a project bringing connectivity Qinghai-Tibet Railway and highways connecting Lhasa with base camps on Mt. Everest is complete and the government is entering Phase 2 of of the challenging deployment.The project is one in a series related to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited, a mobile telecommunications provider in the Far East, is installing repeaters along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and a number of highways to provide travelers in Tibet with wireless coverage.
