Shanghai proceeds with muni wireless network

Shanghai, China, has started has construction on a muni Wi-Fi network for its Jiading District.

According to an article in China Tech News, this is “the formal launch of Shanghai’s push to become a wireless city.” Other cities in China, including Beijing, Tianjin, Wuhan, Hangzhou and Shenzhen, also plan to deploy city-wide Wi-Fi networks.
