Queensland Rail will offer free WiFi on all of its trains. At present, only two-thirds of trains have Wi-Fi. With 400,000 customers a year and almost 7000 kilometres of track serving Brisbane, Cairns and much of Australia’s Gold Coast, it is one of the country’s largest transport providers. Nomad Digital, a company that specialises in installing Wi-Fi networks in passenger trains.Wi-Fi has been popular with passengers and Queensland Rail is running tests to see if advertising can support free Wi-Fi service. In addition to providing Internet access to passengers, Queensland Rail is using the network to improve security and safety via real-time video streaming and remote monitoring.
